Biography of Vivien Oakland :
Born Vivian Ruth Anderson to Norwegian immigrant parents Edward and Anne Olson Anderson she played supporting roles in some 120+ films most of them comedies. She was credited in a number of Hal Roach productions in the late 1920's usually as a long suffering wife in the Laurel & Hardy short subjects. She was married to John T. Murray from 1917 until his death in 1957. Vivien lived near her daughter Joan Ryan (b.1918-NY, d.1991-CA) in Sherman Oaks (CA) at the time of her death. During her last year of life she was employed at Neff's Toy Store as a saleswomen.
