Biography of James Finlayson :
Born James Henderson Finlayson to affluent Scotish parents Alexander and Isabella Henderson Finlayson, "Fin" as he was affectionately referred to by his friends entered films with Mack Sennett and migrated to the Hal Roach lot in 1923 where he quickly became an indispensable supporting player to the comic luminaries resident there. Stan Laurel told author John McCabe, ". . he could just lift that eyebrow and I'd break up." He was divorced and apparently childless living near his brother, Robert, on Beachwood Ave. when he died in his sleep of coronary sclerosis.
